Beale allowed to sign with French club as he awaits trial
When a person is accused of a criminal offence and on bail, they are often subject to conditions which prevent them from going overseas. On 1 August 2023 we made an application to the Court for a change to our client’s bail conditions to permit him to travel overseas for work. Despite being opposed by the prosecution, the Court granted the application, recognising:
the need for a person to be able to work when they are on bail and presumed to be innocent;
that there was no risk that our client would not return to Australia to defend the charges at his trial in January.
