Guy Sebastian's former manager bailed over alleged $1.15m fraud

On 2 July 2020, Lauren MacDougall appeared at Waverley Local Court for Guy Sebastian’s former manager, Titus Day, who was charged by Police with defrauding the singer of more than $1.1 million over seven years.

Police initially opposed his release on bail notwithstanding Day’s clear community ties and the presumption of innocence - a fundamental principle of our system of law.

The Magistrate ultimately granted Mr Day bail because His Honour was satisfied that conditions could adequately ameliorate any risk that Mr Day would not appear at Court.

The following article was published by the Sydney Morning Herald on 2 July 2020.

*We did not act for Mr Day at his trial. He was ultimately found guilty by a jury in relation to some counts and not guilty of others. He has lodged a Notice of Intention to Appeal.
